Salsa Dance Class Levels

Absolute Beginners

We have designed this rolling programme to cater exclusively for "first timers".  This level will teach you the basic steps and give you an introduction to the timing together with basic leading/following skills.  You will learn the fundamental footwork patterns and steps which will provide ou with a god solid foundation for expanding your dance skills.

Advanced Beginners

This is a special level which we have introduced to help bridge the gap between Beginners and Improvers dance classes. This level will introduce you to learning dance routines and will help to consolidate your basic skills and timing.

Improvers

The emphasis at this level is on timing.  Accurate timing will enable you to dance fluidly and in time with the music, enabling you to change tempo according to the beat.  You will also learn about floor craft and spatial awareness.  We will introduce you to syncopated footwork, a wider variety of turn patterns and a selection of dynamic moves, which will add style and punctuation to your free style dancing.

Intermediates/Advanced

In this level you will start to add a touch of finesse and grace to your dancing and be able to lead/follow complex routines with a smooth transition between hand and directional changes.  You will begin to understand and interpret the music, perform intricate footwork and execute spins and turns with both confidence and style.
